Louisville Palace History
The elegance and style of Kentucky’s Louisville Palace extend all the way back to its 1928 opening as the Loew’s and United Artists’ State Theatre, one of the fabulously appointed movie palaces of that era, with a detail-rich Spanish Baroque flavor to its design. The theater hosted both films and live music for decades, and in 1994 it was given a restoration that brought back all the glory of its halcyon days as it became a venue for not only music but touring theatrical shows, comedy and more.
Louisville Palace Performers
The Louisville Palace has hosted iconic performers of every period, from pre-WWII superstars to the likes of Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Tom Waits and James Taylor. More recently, the theater has been the site of concerts by Wilco, Lizzo, Rob Zombie, David Gray and countless other giants of rock, pop, country and R&B.
