Summit History
Summit is a live music oasis in Denver’s lower downtown district. The venue was founded in the summer of 2010 by local bookers Soda Jerk Presents, who took over the site of Club Bash, once a hip-hop hotspot. Since opening, they’ve committed to presenting a spectrum of acts, from up-and-coming rappers to long-standing indie rock favorites. Summit is about twice the size of its nearby sister club, the Marquis Theater, meaning it can accommodate larger shows in its main room while continuing to support local bands in its smaller Moon Room.
Summit Performers
Summit welcomes artists in all genres, with a diverse lineup of concerts. Over the years, Summit has hosted local and international bands in punk, metal, rock, pop, electronic, hip-hop and beyond, including Melvins, Talib Kweli, The Psychedelic Furs, Imagine Dragons, Neon Trees, Wale and Tycho.
Planning Your Visit to Summit
Summit sits near Coors Field and within a 10-minute walk of historic Union Station. With these major landmarks nearby, lots of options exist for a quick bite or drink before the show. The venue itself is surrounded by bars including Tap Fourteen Rooftop Beer Garden, Swanky’s Vittles and Libations, and Hayter’s & Co., all catering to a sports-loving crowd. For a slightly more laid-back scene, head to Dairy Block at 1800 Wazee St., which offers a selection of coffee, pizza and sandwiches. Paid parking lots are scattered throughout the LoDo district, while Union Station offers easy access to the light rail.
