North of Houston in the beautiful forested setting of The Woodlands, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman has been a favorite of artists and audiences for over three decades. Named in honor of the wife of Woodlands developer George P. Mitchell, the venue opened in April 1990 as the new summer home for the Houston Symphony and soon built a reputation as a versatile venue for major musical acts and other performing arts events. The facility’s original capacity of 10,000 was expanded to 16,500 after a succession of renovations through the 1990s and extensive repairs for damage caused by Hurricane Ike in 2008. In 2014, the facility marked the beginning of a new chapter as The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman.

Frank Sinatra, Clint Black, Alabama and Don Henley were among the first of the hundreds of performers who’ve wowed patrons at the Pavilion since its opening in 1990. David Bowie, The Judds and Linda Ronstadt were three more visitors in that historic first year, which included the Houston Symphony’s inaugural season in its new summer home. More recently, Luke Bryan, Kendrick Lamar, Linkin Park and John Mayer also received hearty Texan welcomes from Pavilion audiences.
