Seattle Seahawks vs. Los Angeles Rams History
Between 1976 and 1988, the Rams and Seahawks only played four times in total, with Los Angeles winning all four games by an average margin of victory of 23.75 points per game. After division realignment in the league, the two teams began to play each other twice a season regularly, and Seattle immediately captured momentum in the series.
The Seahawks beat the Rams 12 out of 18 games in the 2000s, including 10 straight games between 2005 and 2009. Seattle scored at least 23 points every game. The series was an even split in the 2010s, with each team winning 10 games against the other. In fact, the teams split the regular season games in six out of the 10 years.
The Seahawks also swept the Rams in 2011 and 2013. In 2013, they’d go on to win Super Bowl XLVIII behind the play of quarterback Russell Wilson and their stellar defense. Los Angeles swept Seattle in both 2015—which included their first win in Seattle since 2004—and 2018, which marked their first time sweeping the NFC West since 1999.
Where Do the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks Play?
SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, has been the home of the Los Angeles Rams since September 2020. SoFi Stadium is considered one of the most architecturally advanced stadiums in the world, complete with a translucent canopy that covers the entire stadium, a pedestrian plaza and YouTube Theater, a 6,000-seat attached performance venue. The stadium has a maximum expandable capacity of 100,240 for all venues and cost an estimated $6 billion to construct.
Lumen Field, located in the heart of downtown Seattle, has been the home of the Seattle Seahawks since 2002. Despite being relatively small compared to other stadiums in the NFL (a maximum capacity of 72,000), Lumen Field is routinely known for having one of the best home field advantages in all of sports. Twice the stadium has claimed the Guinness World Record for loudest crowd, hitting 136.6 and 137.6 decibels at home games in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
