Chase Center History

Located in San Francisco and home to the Golden State Warriors, Chase Center is one of the most technologically advanced stadiums in the entire world. Opening in 2019, Chase Center was privately financed by the Golden State Warriors and cost an astounding $1.4 billion to build. Before opening, Chase Center already sold more than $2 billion in ticket sales, suites and sponsorships. Features of Chase Center include the largest scoreboard in the NBA with screens that measure 82 feet by 52 feet with more than 24 million pixels, as well as 11 acres of restaurants, hotels, offices and waterfront property. The 450,000 square-foot arena also includes astonishing lobbies filled with art loaned from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, courtside suites, theater boxes and a Sky Bar, which is a restaurant and bar with amazing views of the stadium and the San Francisco Bay. Players, coaches and other team personnel are able to enjoy the stunning team locker room, training facility and administrative offices. Also on this sprawling campus is the 10,000-square-foot team store with thousands of Golden State Warriors merchandise options. Chase Center calls their surrounding campus “Thrive City.” Thrive City includes Chase Center and the surrounding restaurants, shops, cafes, banks, offices, museums, parks, plazas and other buildings that are open seven days a week to the general public.

 

Along with all the Golden State Warriors home games, Chase Center has already seen hundreds of world-renowned artists and performers come through its doors, including Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Gorillaz, Panic! At the Disco, Smashing Pumpkins, The Killers, Billie Eilish, Metallica, The Eagles, Ariana Grande and many more.

Being located in the populous and crowded San Francisco, Chase Center encourages fans to use public transportation when coming to events. Chase Center does have onsite parking; however, they only have 950 parking stalls and 29 car charging stations. The price for onsite parking at Chase Center varies depending on the event and can range anywhere from $40 to $200. The average cost for onsite parking for Golden State Warriors games is $170. There are also 6,000 additional parking spaces within a half-mile of the arena that are owned by private companies.

Public transit options for guests of the Chase Center includes a Muni Metro stop directly next to the venue as well as easy connections to BART and Caltrain Stations within walking distance. Event tickets at Chase Center also work as a free all-day Muni pass. Boasting itself as one of the most bike-friendly venues in the United States, Chase Center has a bicycle path that leads to the stadium as well as 300 permanent bike valet parking spaces. A ferry service connecting Pier 48 1/2 in San Francisco and Oakland and Alameda is also available for guests on Golden State Warriors home game days. There are also multiple pick-up and drop-off locations within a block of Chase Center for ride share services.

Chase Center encourages fans to leave bags at home as they have a strict no bag policy. Bags larger than 14″ x 6″ x 14″ will need to be checked at the bag valet on 16th St. for a $10 fee. Medical bags larger than 14″ x 6″ x 14″ are permitted but will have to go through an additional screening process. Other prohibited items at Chase Center include, but are not limited to, weapons of any kind, bottles or cans, backpacks, outside food and beverages, iPads or tablets, 2-way radios, chairs, skateboards, rollerblades, helmets, professional cameras and equipment, selfie sticks, drones, signs or banners larger than 11″ x 17″, frisbees, beach balls, laser pointers and noise making devices.

Chase Center has a seating capacity of 18,064. Along with thousands of general seating options, Chase Center also offers a wide range of VIP seating options, including 44 suites on the upper bowl, 32 Courtside Lounges and 60 Theater Boxes. Courtside Lounges include a max of 16 people in a private lounge, two VIP parking passes, a curated dining experience and a private butler. Club Suites include an all-inclusive dining program, a dedicated attendant, two VIP parking passes and a varying number of seats depending on the club. Theater Boxes include four tickets per box, a private dining experience, one VIP parking pass and a dedicated attendant.

Top food options include Oakland’s Bakesale Betty, San Francisco’s Tacolicious, Sam’s Chowder House of Half Moon Bay, the exclusive Hot Dog Bills’ burger dog, Tony G’s Pizza, Big Nate’s BBQ, Sarap Shop, Omakase Restaurant Group, Boug Cali, CC Made, Earl’s Brittle, Yvonne’s Southern Sweets, Sugar & Spun and Five Dot Ranch.
