Home of the Seattle Mariners
Located in the SoDo section of Seattle, T-Mobile Park has been the home of the Seattle Mariners since 1999. It replaced the Kingdome and is located just south of where the Kingdome stood. It is a retractable roof baseball stadium that offers views of downtown Seattle and Lumen Field, home of the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks.

T-Mobile Park had a groundbreaking ceremony in 1997 in which 30,000 people joined Mariners star Ken Griffey Jr. to officially begin construction. It was initially cakked Safeco Field, as naming rights were purchased by the Safeco Corporation in 1998. The stadium opened in July 1999 and 47,000 attended the inaugural game. Over the years, it has been the site of some iconic moments and the scene of well-known features, such as The King’s Court section in honor of Felix Hernandez and Buhner Buzz Night, where Jay Buhner would personally buzz people’s heads for free admission. In 2001, the stadium saw the Mariners clinch its American League record 116th victory of the season. From Ichiro Suzuki to Hernandez to Edgar Martinez to Griffey Jr., T-Mobile Park has been home to some of the best players in the history of baseball.
It has also been home to the 2001 and 2023 MLB All-Star Games, college baseball and football games, and multiple soccer matches. T-Mobile Park hosted Wrestlemania XIX in 2003 and the 2024 NHL Winter Classic. Some big musical acts have played concerts in the stadium, including Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Tom Petty, Zac Brown Band, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z. Political rallies, the Microsoft annual employee meeting, and multiple high school and college graduations have all been held there as well.
Parking and Admission at T-Mobile Park
There are plenty of parking options surrounding T-Mobile Park. There are three parking garages around the stadium, including one at Lumen Field. Lumen Field Garage spots range from $10 – $50 and the garage is located to the north of the T-Mobile Park, which is a 100% cashless stadium. Mariners Garage is next door to the ballpark and is the ideal spot for those with Suite Level and Terrace Club tickets. Union Station Garage is the most affordable option, ranging from $8 to $30 for a spot. It is half a mile from the ballpark and offers covered parking. There are also street spots and parking garages north of T-Mobile Park that are available on event days.
For public transportation options, visitors can take the Link light rail to the stadium. It makes 17 stops between Northgate Station and Angle Lake Station and stops at the ballpark. Adult fares are $2.25 or $3.50 depending on your destination. The trains run every eight, 10, or 15 minutes, depending on the time of day, and service stops at 1 a.m. Biking or walking to the stadium is also easy to do.
Clear and vinyl plastic bags smaller than 12” x 6” x 12” are permitted in the stadium as are small clutch bags smaller than 4.5” x 6.5”. Security must be able to see to the bottom of bags and bags larger than these dimensions are not permitted. You are allowed to bring in a blanket and a factory-sealed water bottle. Outside food is permitted in single-serve sizes.
T-Mobile Park Capacity & Seating Options
The T-Mobile Park seating capacity is 47,929, making it the fourth largest stadium in MLB. The seating opportunities are plentiful for fans, as there are three different tiers and an entire suite section. There are more seating options around the infield and down the lines than in the outfield. From corporate packages to private suites, T-Mobile Park has VIP ticketing and services that rival any other ballpark. There are premium suites that can fit up to 52 guests and offer private skybridge entry, dedicated attendants, and VIP parking.
The Emerald City Suite is the largest infield suite while the Home Plate Suite is only available for single-game selections. Private suites are located around the infield while group suites are in right field. The Terrace Club Loge Boxes are located up the first baseline and give you a $100 food and beverage credit for the four tickets per box. Two TVs are in the box, and one VIP parking pass is included.
If you are looking to rent a large space or want one of the most unique vantage points in the stadium, the T-Mobile Pen is located in between the bullpens in the outfield. There are multiple lounges and bars and an unobstructed view of the field. Multiple packages can be enjoyed by up to 175 guests.

The T-Mobile Park food options are copious as you’ll find local favorites and ballpark staples. Get seafood at Ivar’s or poke at The Catch. Enjoy some crispy grasshoppers at Edgar’s Cantina or Edgar’s Taco Shack along with plenty of Mexican fare. Go healthy with acai bowls and salads or get burgers or Chinese. For beverages, beer, wine, cider, seltzers, canned cocktails, water, and sodas are available throughout the stadium.
