Your Quick & Easy Guide To The Fillmore Charlotte, NC

The Fillmore Charlotte History

Though it’s a good 2,700 miles east of the legendary San Francisco concert hall from which it takes its name, The Fillmore Charlotte has faithfully re-created the look and feel of its West Coast inspiration since opening in a former textile mill in 2009. From the familiar-looking marquee to the red hardwood floors to the beautiful chandeliers in its 2,000-capacity main hall, The Fillmore Charlotte combines classic decor with a dazzling lighting system, superior sound and (thanks to stadium-style tiers) excellent sight lines. Its adjacent venue, The Underground, is a smaller 800-capacity space that showcases tomorrow’s stars today.

The Fillmore Charlotte Performers

True to the brand’s roots, The Fillmore Charlotte has served as a haven for bluesy rock ‘n’ roll bands with a fondness for extended jamming, like The Black Crowes, Blues Traveler and Gov’t Mule. It’s also been a place to catch great metal acts, from Motörhead to Mastodon. Back in 2010, it hosted a rising MC named Drake, and the roll call of rappers who’ve played the venue include royalty like Warren G and Ghostface, as well as new-school stars like Earl Sweatshirt and J. Cole.
